Lydia Silvestri’s residence in Colico represents an emblematic place in the life and work of the sculptress from Valtellina. This studio-house was personally designed by the artist in 2010 and became her home until her death in 2018.

In 1965, commissioned by parish priest Don Salvatore Schenini, she created the mosaic depicting ‘Saint George piercing the dragon’ on the main façade of the Church of San Giorgio. This work, still visible today, testifies to the deep bond between the artist and the local community.
