The Church of San Bernardino is the main church of the Villatico parish—part of the pastoral zone known as the “Colichese parishes”—and dates back to the second half of the 15th century.
Construction began shortly after the canonization of San Bernardino on May 24, 1450, following a style that predates the Romanesque period. It features a basilica-style architectural layout with three naves. The altar is made of Varenna marble and dates to the 18th century.
The walls display numerous frescoes, including a central one depicting San Bernardino flanked by Saint Helena and Saint Margaret, as well as figures of angels adoring the dove and Christ in glory.
